March 2023 News

Happy spring to all. Due to varies health issues I have been unable to get a newsletter out since December. I will try to catch up everyone on what is happening at the club. To begin, if you have not renewed your membership you may do so at any time, when you do you will receive a new membership card and the gate combination. Dues are shown on the membership application on
this site.

At our March meeting we finalized the proposed by-law changes and the vote was unanimous. Most are minor changes that are more for clarification. I will publish the entire By-Laws and have them posted ASAP.

In previous newsletter I have requested donations for the chicken bar-b-Q to be held on June 10 at the club. It will still take place but we will not use it as a fund raiser for the club, and will not need any donations for it. There will be a can raffle, and drawings for other items. Please support it. This year in addition to chicken they will also be offering pulled pork with appropriate side dishes. In light of that the club will be participating in the area yard/garage sale held in New Haven on the weekend of August 4-5 with August 6 as a rain date. Most important we need the support of our members. Knowing sportsman you are more than likely to have a number of hunting, fishing, and trapping, or archery items that you no longer use and are just taking up storage space. Consider donating them to the club for the sale. We will accept items at any time just contact one of the officers or board members so the items can be stored in the building. If you need your donation picked up please again contact any board member or officer and we will make arrangements to do so. We cannot accept ANY FIREARMS OR LIVE AMMUNITION. I’m sure we all have a few extra items and you know as well as I do you don’t need 17 fishing poles (: .

Remember guest passes are required for any non-member to be on the range they are available from any officer as well as from Ralph Izzo. He can be reached at 315-480-6157, the cost is $5.00 and good for a specific day and must be accompanied by the member requesting the pass.

Again, no glass or metal targets are permitted. For the 25 and 50 yard benches paper targets can be fastened with cloth pins (they are on each bench) 100 and 200 require targets to be stapled. PLEASE take used target with you as the containers are for spent cartridges ONLY, no live ammunition.

A reminder the County Federation will have their fundraising dinner on April 15 at the Green View country club 20 Whig Hill Road, West Monroe, this will be a prime rib dinner plus other items. Advanced sale tickets only. They are $30 each, contact Don Fenske to obtain a ticket. Once again we would like to have the skeet and trap open this will be on Wednesday’s , for more information contact, Grover Earle 315-298-3375.

Please support the club, we meet on the 1st Monday of the month 7:00PM.
Thank you

Michael
