Welcome fall. Once again we are heading to the busiest time on the range. Due to the abundance of rain it has been difficult to keep the range mowed but we are trying our best. A few dry days should improve things. The campus security used the range this past week and hopefully it did not interfere too much with our members.
Once again we do not allow guest on the range unless you accompany them and have a valid guest pass- obtainable from Ralph Izzo- 315-480-6157. Please call ahead and he will take care of you. The fee is $5.00 per guest.
Only paper targets are allowed- on the 25 and 50 yard backboards they can be attached with cloth pins onto the orange fencing. For the 100 and 200 yard range they should be stapled. When you are done shooting please remove the targets and take them with you. The small containers are for CASINGS ONLY – not garbage and especially no misfired cartridges. When others are using the range please allow them to finish before you post or change targets. NO one should have a loaded firearm at the benches if someone is down range.
As in the past the south side of route 104- the shooting range will be closed from November 19 (the opening of southern tier deer season) until December 11th to allow our older members to hunt. The North side is open the entire season. Members may hunt any open season on the club property. Guest passes are for the range use only. For those wishing to use a tree stand – they must be portable. Do NOT nail anything into the trees. All stands must be labeled with the owners name. If not, we will remove the stand and it will become club property. Stands can be erected any time after October 1st BUT must be removed by January 15th.
